Joined the Project for Public Spaces. Communities are defined by their sense of place, yet they are seldom evaluated as places by the professionals charged with improving them. This diagram shows the measurable and intangible elements that PPS has observed make a great place. The criteria of sociability, uses and activities, comfort and image, and access and linkages, and their associated measurements and intangibles are what PPS uses to evaluate and improve any public space. Use it to evaluate your public spaces. Learn where they fail how they need to be improved.
